In Time For Annual Marathon, Live-Action “Saki” Takes Out Ad In Sports Paper

The Hakone Ekiden is a high profile university relay marathon taking place between Tokyo and Hakone on January 2nd and 3rd. Male runners go five stages from Ōtemachi to Hakone, 108km the first day, and 109.9km the second. In time for this event, the live-action Saki movie took out a full-page ad in the Tokyo edition of the Sports Hochi daily newspaper.

Ritz Kobayashi’s mahjong-themed manga Saki is being adapted into a live-action project that includes a four-episode TV series that aired on MBS/TBS in December 2016 with one special episode on January 8, and a feature film to be released in theaters on February 3rd.
