All-Male Idol Group “Guyjin48” Seeks Members

Do you have idol aspirations? Are you a male student studying abroad in Japan? Then you may have what it takes to join Guyjin48.

The new group, billing itself as “Japan’s first all male idol band consisting entirely of foreign students,” is hoping to bring international understanding and culture to its fans. To quote their site:

Guy人48(Guyjin48) is Japan’s first all male idol band consisting entirely of foreign students of all nationalities studying in Japan. Our goal is to bring people together, to promote language exchange, and to create an environment that will further allow foreign students to become proficient in Japanese and eventually stay and work in Japan. Through concerts and events we aim to provide a platform for students and native Japanese speakers to meet, and through our website you will be able to follow the progress of your favorite members and learn Japanese language and culture alongside them.

So far, the small starter group has members from America, France, and China. If you’re a young man studying Japanese at a school or university in Japan, the group may have a spot for you. There’s an application form on their site.

We’re looking forward to seeing what Guyjin48 comes up with as they grow.
