Kairi Shimotsuki’s Historical Action Manga “BRAVE10” Gets Stage Play Adaptation This Summer

It is officially confirmed today that Kairi Shimotsuki’s historical action manga BRAVE10, based on the legend of the Sanada Ten Braves during the Sengoku period of Japan, will get its stage play adaptation this summer. The official website and Twitter also opened today with a newly drawn illustration by the manga author. The cast for its protagonist Saizo Kirigakure and main heroine Isanami will be revealed soon.

The first season of the manga was serialized in Media Factory’s Comic Flapper for 47 chapters from 2006 to 2011 with eight tankobon volumes, then the second season BRAVE10 S (Spiral) ran for 45 chapters in Monthly Comic Gene from 2011 to 2016 with nine volumes. Its TV anime adaptation animated by TMS Entertainment was aired for 12 episodes from January to March 2012. The author is also famous for her manga adaptation of Hideyuki Kikuchi’s Makai Ishi Mephisto dark action fantasy novel series.

The manga author posted her comment on the stage play website as below:

“I am so surprised and honored that BRAVE10 has received an offer for its stage play adaptation. I have

never expected to have the opportunity to see Saizo, Isanami, and all the member of Ten Braves on the

stage. I hope you’ll be looking forward to the BRAVE 10 stage play! I ‘m just worried about Rokuro’s hakama

(man’s formal divided skirt).”
