Weekly Torne Rankings Show “Interviews with Monster Girls” as Top New Winter Anime

The first batch of winter 2017 anime has been aired, and the results are in — for now, at least. Using data from Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Torne DVR/TV tuner, the top 10 watched anime from January 2-8 have been ranked:

1. March Comes in Like a Lion

2. Interviews with Monster Girls

3. Seiren

4. Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga

5. Saga of Tanya the Evil

6. Little Witch Academia

7. Akiba’s Trip the Animation

8. Urara Meirochou

9. Dragon Ball Super

10. Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju

So far, March Comes in Like a Lion still reigns supreme even over new shows, with Interviews with Monster Girls coming in as second most watched anime overall and most watched new winter anime. Long-runners Dragon Ball and Blue Exorcist (the latter of which has started a new season) are still in the top 10, with the heavily-marketed Seiren beating out both as second new series and third overall.

Torne rankings are accumulated via stats from households that use Sony’s app to view or record television: via PS3, PS4, PSVita, and PC devices.
