Japan Academy Film Prize Announces “Animation of the Year” Nominees

The 5 nominees have been announced for the catergory of “Animation of the Year” for the Japan Academy Film Prize, a prestigious industry award that celebrates excellence in Japanese films. The nominees for “Animation of the Year” include:



Your Name, directed by Makoto Shinkai.



A Silent Voice, directed by Naoko Yamada.



In This Corner of the World, directed by Sunao Katabuchi.



Rudolf the Black Cat, directed by Kunihiko Yuyama and Motonori Sakakibara.



And ONE PIECE FILM GOLD, directed by Hiroaki Miyamoto.


The winner of the “Animation of the Year” prize will be announced at the 40th annual Japan Academy Film Prize ceremony, which will be held on March 03, 2017.
