Latest “Crayon Shin-chan” Spin-Off Takes a Stab at “Lone Wolf and Cub”

The 3rd season of the Crayon Shin-chan Gaiden spin-off series will be debuting as an Amazon Prime exclusive in Japan on February 22, 2017, and this time Shinnosuke and his family will romp through feudal Japan in a spoof of jidaigeki and chanbara films, especially the Lone Wolf and Cub series.

The new series is entitled Crayon Shin-chan Gaiden: Kazokukure Ookami (“Wolf Taking the Family Along”), a pun on Kozure Ookami (“Wolf with Cub in Tow”), the original Japanese title of the Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima manga that inspired the Lone Wolf and Cub films.

Crayon Shin-chan Gaiden: Kazokukure Ookami is directed by Michio Mihara and features animation by Shin-Ei Animation. The series will run for 13 episodes, with a new episode being released each Wednesday beginning on February 22, 2017. Each episode will be approximately 7 minutes in length.
